Candles can help create a festive atmosphere as we celebrate different events, but unattended flames can quickly lead to devastating fires. Consider safer alternatives and enjoy your celebrations with peace of mind. Stay safe by: Choosing battery-powered LED candles wherever possible. Keeping candles well away from curtains, decorations and soft furnishings. Using a suitable heat-resistant holder on a stable surface. Keeping candles out of reach of children and pets. Never leaving candles unattended, even for a short time. Making sure candles are fully extinguished before going to bed or leaving the room. Test your smoke alarms regularly and make sure you have them fitted on each floor of your home. Recycle responsibly, never throw batteries in household waste. A safer celebration starts with safer lighting choices.
